Art Among the Trees

This was such a fun day! If you’ve never been to the sunflower fields at Dorthea Dix Park in Raleigh, NC you definitely should! It’s so amazing to be surrounded by gorgeous towering sunflowers and a great place for a photo session!

Spring at Wild Hare Farm = Peonies

Spent some time today with Leah Cook of Wild Hare Farm in Cedar Grove, NC.  Leah calls peonies "the party girls of the flower world".  When you see them in all of their full fluffy pink glory, you understand why.  I love the sight and smell of these flowers!

Fall is Here; Winter is Coming

Fall is my favorite season.  I love the cool, crisp air, the warm tones of the leaves, soups, stews, comfort food.  Bring it on!  These photos are from a recent trip to Vermont.

Road Trip to the NC Mountains

It’s easy to forget that the cure for the doldrums is to take a spontaneous road trip! The other day, a friend invited me on a photography adventure to the North Carolina mountains where we drove along the Blue Ridge Highway and visited Linville Falls and Craggy Gardens for some pretty amazing mountain scenes.

Apple Picking in Vermont

I had never gone apple picking before this year. Happy Valley Orchard in Vermont has so many varieties--all delicious, and all different!  They also had freshly fried homemade apple cinnamon donuts which were pretty tasty too!

MIDDLEBURY CHOCOLATES is a small, artisan chocolate maker in Vermont. The chocolates came beautifully packaged in tissue paper and a brown box with ribbon, and they were divine!

I recently had the pleasure of working with The Flying Machine Theatre CO., creating marketing materials for an upcoming performance Curious Accidents & Unintended Consequences. It's been a lot of fun because I get to create in all of my favorite media: words, video, and photography. Below is a double exposure of Helen, one of the actors in the play. I thought it was a good reflection of the project's namesake: Curious Accidents & Unintended Consequences, which is exactly what a double exposure is.
